Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect the personal information of buyers, sellers, and visitors on FarmlandRealty.ca — and the choices you have over your own data.
Last updated: July 14, 2026
FarmlandRealty.ca (“FarmlandRealty,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a farmland auction and listing platform operated by a Saskatchewan-licensed REALTOR® in association with REMAX Crown Real Estate, Regina, Saskatchewan. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. By using our website, registering an account, or bidding in an auction, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you provide directly and information that is gathered automatically when you use our website.
Information you provide to us:
- Account & identity details — your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address when you register as a buyer or seller.
- Bidder qualification & verification — identity verification information, deposit and financing confirmation, and other details required to qualify you to bid.
- Seller & property information — land titles, legal descriptions, acreage, municipality, and other details you submit when listing farmland for sale.
- Transaction & payment information — bids you place, deposits, and details needed to complete a purchase or sale, including e-signature information for purchase agreements.
- Communications — messages, inquiries, booking requests, and survey responses you send to us or submit through our forms.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage & device data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring URLs, and the dates and times of your visits.
- Cookies & similar technologies — small files and identifiers used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure site performance, and support advertising (see Section 4).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account, and qualify you to bid on or list farmland.
- Operate auctions — accepting and displaying bids, applying reserves and anti-snipe rules, and determining winning bidders.
- Process deposits, complete transactions, and facilitate the signing of purchase agreements.
- Send you transactional messages such as bid confirmations, outbid and auction-ending reminders, verification emails, and account notices by email or SMS.
- Respond to your inquiries, booking requests, and support requests.
- Send marketing and lead-nurturing communications where you have consented, and measure the performance of our advertising.
- Maintain the security of the platform, prevent fraud, and comply with our legal, regulatory, and real-estate licensing obligations.
4. Advertising & Analytics
To grow our audience and reach farmland buyers and sellers, we advertise on third-party platforms and use analytics tools that rely on cookies and device identifiers. These may include Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising and measurement services. These partners may collect information about your visits to our site and other sites over time to measure ad performance and show you relevant ads, including remarketing.
We do not sell your personal information. You can control interest-based advertising through the following tools:
- Google Ads settings: adssettings.google.com and Google Analytics opt-out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Meta ad preferences: manage in your Facebook or Instagram account settings under “Ads.”
- Canadian opt-out for interest-based ads: youradchoices.ca
Your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting may also signal your preference; where required, we honour recognized opt-out signals.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide our services, complete and document transactions, resolve disputes, and meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations — including real-estate record-keeping requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
7. How We Protect Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These include encrypted connections, access controls, and reputable third-party infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
- Ask us to correct or update inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying STOP to an SMS, or contacting us.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to records we are required to retain.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for adults who are legally able to enter into real-estate transactions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Where Your Information Is Stored
We are based in Canada, and our providers may store or process information in Canada or other countries. Where information is processed outside your province or country, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, and we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
